KATHRYN HUNT began her dance training at the age of 5 years old in ballet and tap. By the age of 10 years old she was a competitive gymnast with hopes of going to the Olympics. Due to a number of injuries in gymnastics she stopped competing and continued with her dance training. Moving to Los Angeles in 1998, she trained with Iris Pell, (original member of Bella Lewitzky) and Charlotte Richards (Pacific Northwest Ballet). She received her Bachelor of Arts in Dance from California State University, Long Beach where she trained with Ron Brown (Alvin Ailey), Susan McClain (original soloist for Martha Graham), Sharon Kinney (Paul Taylor), Keith Johnson, Sophie Monet and Doug Neilson to name a few of the elite faculty. While in college, Kathryn had the opportunity to spend 6 months in Brazil dancing at the Escola de Danca da Fundacao da Bahia. There she studied Modern dance, Afro-Brazilian dance and Capoeira. She also trained with master technician Rosangela Silvestre, who designed the Silvestre Technique of Modern dance movement. While in Brazil, Kathryn performed in the city of Salvador, Bahia Brazil at a number of local performance venues. She worked with professional musicians in Salvador to develop modern choreography to unique sounds of Afro-Brazilian music.

Kathryn has continued to study Capoeira in the U.S at academies throughout Los Angeles, New York, New Hampshire and Connecticut. She has performed in shows throughout the country and Brazil in dance and Capoeira. Over the last 10 years Kathryn has danced in companies in California such as Viver Brasil Dance Company, Winifred Harris’s Between Lines, The Sarah Marshall Dance Company and Marie De La Palma’s, Motion Tribe. Kathryn and her choreography have been seen in the music video by England’s artist, Jim Greenfield, Viver Brasil Dance Company and the Sarah Marshall Dance Company. She has been featured on Univision Television in Los Angeles, and the BASI Pilates website. She received her Pilates diploma from Body Arts and Science International (BASI) in 2004 and has been teaching Pilates throughout Los Angeles. Kathryn has trained a wide range of clientele in Pilates from celebrities to rehabilitation clients in clinics and Chiropractors offices to professional dancers in Los Angeles and New York. She is now on staff at Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles.

Kathryn has been currently recognized for her work in the community by teaching dance, yoga and Pilates throughout the Los Angeles Public Schools. She also is on staff of the Dance Department of Loyola Marymount University.She participated in an after school learning enrichment program called LEAP developing ways of introducing children to dance and keeping them off the streets. She taught the children about dance by association with popular styles such as relating Capoeira to Break dancing, Hip Hop to Afro-Brazilian, and Classical Dance to Popular pop dance styles.

Private sessions for full circuit high intensity training are taught by Shedrack Anderson, with over 25 years of training in styles from all over the world, he has over 16 national and state titles, a former USA Tae Kwon Do team member for the Junior Olympics and Instructor of the Internal Martial Arts.

My extreme high intensity sessions will guarantee weight loss and muscle tone. The program will increase speed, stamina, and strength. Shedrack puts emphasis on developing balance, coordination, and timing, which in turn, will help in all other sports and activities. Shedrack also offers personal martial Arts instruction.We promote non-violent resolutions to conflict though our method will prepare you to defend yourself as a last option. get in shape fast!!

KRYSTIN STEPHENSON began her dance training with ballet and tap at the young age of three while living in Texas. Since then she has continued dancing in Louisiana, Colorado, and now Los Angeles.

Krystin began teaching at the age of 15, starting by substituting for the studios she performed with, finding a love in enhancing other students joy for dance. In 2005, Krystin moved to Long Beach, CA to continue her education at California State University, where she graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in English Education in 2009.

MARY O’MALLEY is a South Florida native who began studying dance and gymnastics at age 4. While attending Boston University for her undergraduate degree, Mary took her first Pilates class and was immediately hooked on the methodology. In 2001 she began STOTT PILATES mat and reformer teacher training, following it with GYROTONIC EXPANSION SYSTEM® and specialized equipment teacher training in 2002 and 2004. Most recently, Mary took part in a 200 hour Anusara yoga immersion and teacher training. Mary has been teaching for nine years, studying in Boston, New York City and Los Angeles with such master teachers as Kathy Van Patten, Marcus Schulkind, Noah Mazé, Sebastian Plettenberg and Julio Horvath.

In addition to teaching, Mary worked as a corporate attorney after receiving her law degree from the University of Connecticut in 2007, and presently practices law on a non-profit basis. Her passion for movement and learning drive her to educate clients, assisting them in becoming more knowledgeable, empowered and confident in their own physicality. Mary is a Senior Pilates Instructor at HUNT Pilates. She teaches Intermediate/Advanced Reformer class at 6:30pm and Advanced Reformer class at 7:30pm on Mondays and Tuesdays here at HUNT Pilates.

DIANE SEVERINO is one of the most well-known and respected Pilates Instuctor's in the country. She has over 35 years of Pilates and Dance teaching experience, which she integrates in her workouts. She was an apprentice to Ron Fletcher and former proprietor of his studio in Beverly Hills, CA. She found Pilates through dance and is now considered a master teacher. Diane is a Julliard alumnus and original dancer for Martha Graham. She has taught modern dance throughout New York and Los Angeles. Diane is a pioneer in the Dance Medicine techniques and a guest lecturer at Orthopedic Symposia on the use of Pilates to rehabilitate dance injuries. She teaches Reformer classes and a Body Sculpt class on Tuesdays and Thursdays at HUNT Pilates.

Hunt Pilates studio manager was born and raised in LA County. She received her diploma through Pilates Sports Center. She has taken various continuing education classes such as Pilates for Pregnancy and Common Problems for the Spine. Jehona has a background in various kinds of dance, such as Ballet, Tap and Jazz. She was first introduced to Pilates in 2006 to strengthen her dance technique while completing an intensive conservatory program from the American Musical and Dramatic Academy in Los Angeles. In 2007 she suffered from a severe knee injury, which resulted in surgery.

After months of no progress in physical therapy she turned to Pilates for help and within no time she was able to reclaim control over her body. She is currently a full-time student at Pierce and Valley Colleges, and is hoping to transfer to a UC school for Theatre Arts. Jehona is excited to share her knowledge and motivation for movement and help clients reach their fullest physical potential. She is currently teaching Beginning, Intermediate, and Advanced Reformer classes as well as a Circuit and Combo class. She teaches classes Monday, Wednesday and Fridays from 3pm to 5pm and Sunday from 1:30pm to 3:30pm at HUNT Pilates.

TRACY RUBELL worked in the fashion industry for 15 years until she could no longer stand on her feet. She suffered from terrible neck pain, tension headaches and low back issues. After trying everything else, she gave Pilates a chance. Not only did Tracy fall in love with Pilates, her pain was gone and she loved how her body was transforming. Tracy received her diploma at Pilates Sports Center in California. Tracy helps clients with injuries, clients who need to regain core stability after pregnancy, and anyone who just wants to transform his/her body. Clients appreciate her upbeat personality and the ability to make them work harder than they thought possible. Tracy teaches mat and reformer classes on Thursdays and Saturdays and is also available for private sessions at HUNT Pilates.

AMY ACETO came came to Pilates from a background in fashion design and a passion for swimming. She discovered Pilates while searching for a way to address her lower back and neck pain. In 2009, she became a certified instructor from Pilates Sports Center and is a member of Pilates Method Alliance. She is certified on all Pilates apparatuses including mat, reformer, Cadillac, and wunda chair. Amy has continued her Pilates education by attending workshops and classes. She is looking forward to a rewarding and long-term relationship with the studio. We are excited to have her join our staff.

JASON BURGHORN comes to us all the way from Florida. He became interested in Pilates when his sister, who now teaches at the PhysicalMind Studio in New York, got certified to teach Pilates in 2007. He's had a lifelong interest in both a healthy, active lifestyle and helping others. Jason has been very physically active his whole life, from playing sports such as soccer, basketball and baseball to lifting weights at the gym. The subject of health and nutrition has been very important to him, having grown up with parents who are nutritionists. He enjoys motivating his clients to work hard and persist to achieve their fitness goals, integrating Pilates into their lives while at the same time having fun. Jason is also an actor in his spare time.

After suffering with back and knee injuries from years of dance, Lara found a way to heal her severe injuries as well as to stay in shape. In 2004 one of her dance teachers suggested she try Pilates. She fell in love with it so much she decided to become an instructor so she could help others also heal their painful ailments through Pilates. Lara received her Pilates certification through the Body Arts and Science Institute. She has also been studying how the body works and why all of us suffer from setbacks due to everyday wear and tear on our bodies, as well as the problems caused by inactivity. One of the reason she loves Pilates so much is that Pilates can help everyone stay stronger. Lara has been teaching a range of clients from healthy athletes, to the elderly who suffer from severe handicaps. She is always expanding her knowledge of new Pilates movements with continuing education workshops. She uses her knowledge of the body and the way the human body moves to help clients walk a bit straighter and enjoy life with a lot less pain.

ANTHONY FERGUSON is from London, England. He is an ex-professional rugby player (having played 9 years in England's Premier League) and has an extensive background in Exercise Physiology and numerous other sports. He is a certified Pilates teacher with nearly 20 years of experience, working with every imaginable type of client, from post surgery rehab patients, to pre/post natal mothers to professional athletes. Antony spent 16 years living in New York City, teaching at all the major health clubs and Pilates studios, and had a large and celebrity studded clientele. Since moving to Los Angeles 2 years ago, he has been teaching for Equinox, at their Century City club, and for Crunch in West Hollywood. He is delighted to be a part of this studio.
